How time flies

When I started this I resolved to add something at least once per week, the best laid plans of mice and men!
The excuse is I have been busy, which is a good thing except no-one is paying me to be busy, which is a bad thing.
Trade fairs have all come and gone as has the budget, litle to say on either really except same as, same as - why is nobody innovative any more?

The Licensing Exchange

The Licensing Exchange Ltd became official last week, together with www.thelicensingexchange.com or .org or .co.uk, to cover all the popular options. The newsletter is coming along well as is the The Licensing Directory and The Retail Directory, hoping they will be on-line early summer. Good early reaction at Toyfair - which was good. Toyfair was good too, shame some larger manufacturers still refuse to support their industries showcase. Still - no change there then.

One stop shop for all things Licensing

We've been beavering away at the new Licensing Forum, Licensing Exchange, European Licensing Association (haven't got a final name for it all yet) and would welcome some feedback. This is going to be an all singing, all dancing one stop shop for everything you needed to know about licensing and will incorporate a retail directory, a licensing directory, news, articles, adverts, forum, blogs, etc - the big USP is that it will all be FREE!! We'll even have a pixel for sale page! Do you think we're onto something?

Blackberries

Wonder if I should get a Blackberry, not the fruity one but the techno email thingy. Just can't help wondering what email could be that urgent that I need to read it wherever I am, at any point of the day or night. Couldn't they just ring me? Do I need to know everything, at all times, just in case I miss something? Comments from Blackberry fans or luddites most welcome.

The First Post

First post from me on the new blog. Feel free to comment however you like, whether related to licensing or not. All things rude and offensive will be removed though.
Why are there not more licensing conferences in the UK? Why can't we have an alternative to the Brand License show in October? There's lots happening in the States - even activity now in Poland but little happening here - maybe Advanstar has too large a grip on the UK scene? Some have tried recently but......... We're going to try though - watch for the new European Licensing Association coming in the next few months. Also look out for The Licensing Forum (www.thelicensingforum.com) - a dedicated one-stop shop for all things licensing, plus a business forum that allows comment, posts from you, adverts, job vacancies etc etc - limited only by your imagination. Site not operating yet but it would be interesting to hear any views before we go live later in the year.
This all coming from KDBC but as it's KDBC's blog I figure that it's fine to advertise. Anyone else's competing adverts in any comments will, of course, be deleted by the admin team as soon as they're posted.
